I recently graduated from college. It was the best 4 years of my life. I loved living with a couple of pals, and all the freedom that came with it. I'm sure you all know the lifestyle...classes at random times throughout the week, going out almost every weekend, playing intramural sports, girls everywhere...an amazing life.
Since returning home, I feel as though I have really hit a rut. The first year back was okay, I wasn't able to get a full time job, but I managed to get contract gigs, and worked at my dads company while I tried to figure out what I wanted to do. No rush, I thought.
However, now I'm well into the 2nd year. My dad has had some health issues this summer which has required me to be around and sort of put things on hold this summer. However, now that the summer is over I really need to get back in a routine and start things up.
My question isn't so much about getting a job, which I will do with time. Its more about how all you college grads adjusted to life afterwards. I'm still living at home and won't get a place on my own until I get a solid job and my dads health is taken care of. I know that I need to move on and focus on the future instead of the past...but I can't stop thinking about my "past life". I know this sounds dramatic, but it feels like my entire life has been turned upside down.
Does anybody have any advice on how to combat this? I go to the gym 4-5x a week, and that helps get my mind off of things...but it can't be the only thing I do. Has anyone on here gone through the same thing?
