So! I've been lurking on TRP without an account for a while, and something interesting occurred to me this morning.

I have been reading the Rational Male series for a couple of months now as well, and something occurred to me this morning while reading Positive Masculinity.

While reading the forum and the books (Ed Latimore, Victor Pride, Rollo Tomassi, and Mike Cernovich), I realized that I keep repeating a behavior.

I will come across a profound idea, and then act on it, without reading the rest of the article or book! Then I will go back to reading, and realize that the action I took was wrong. This has happened more times than I can count, but I will give my most recent example.

Positive Masculinity talks about pair-bonding with women who have had multiple partners and how difficult it can be, and how likely divorce is. It lists how likely a divorce is considering how many partners your woman has had. This was something I was a little aware of, but I didn't realize someone had broken it down by specific numbers of partners! This was really helpful in regards to properly vetting a woman!

The problem is, as soon as I read this section, I immediately texted my new GF, and just overtly asked her "how many men have you been with anyway? The book I'm reading has a chart and I wanna see where you land on it." We've discussed TRP at length and she thinks it's really interesting, so I wasn't shy about asking this question.

THEN! I read further while waiting for a response, and I see very clearly "DO NOT ASK THIS QUESTION OVERTLY!" You are supposed to covertly get this information from her over the course of getting to know and date her. FUCK!

As with everything in TRP, we have to make mistakes in order to not repeat them, but I finally decided to make an account and see if other guys were making this mistake. I know we have the issue of TL;DR (too long, didn't read), but for christ's sake, "finish reading the article or book before you take any action" is the lesson I learned today.
