So last night I had a pretty good night. I went to a hockey game with a friend and we ended up at the bars downtown, one of my favorite watering holes. I like going there better than most of the places because it's usually not as packed until later on in the night, and the customer base is mostly young college students and they're all really friendly and approachable. However, while I was out and about, making approaches and laughing, flirting, etc. (one of which ended up scoring me a number) I ran into a couple of shit-tests that confused me.

I approached a woman outside and made a little general conversation, and she immediately disqualified herself by telling me she "felt old" and all the "kids in here are way too young". She didn't seem as old as she said she was, (36) and it didn't matter - I was mostly making approaches so that I could be more comfortable in that situation in the future, but I had passed a couple other girls' shit tests not an hour before (got the digits) and now I smacked into this huge barrier. I'm a decently attractive guy, just started lifting about 2 months ago, and have seen huge improvement in my confidence and stance, obviously beginner's gains, but still improvement nonetheless.

Later on, I approached a couple of girls sitting at a table who seemed like they were having a good time. They looked at me like I was nuts, and it turned out that they were both over 30. One of them was extremely bitter about it, (She was like a 4 at best) and her friend was an easy 6. But again, the age shit-test threw me through a loop because they laughed at the fact that I looked 20 (I'm 26). I told them I was actually 17, to try and A&A but they continued to tag-team me (Not in the good way, either) until I gave up and walked away.

I suppose my question is, how do you deal with late 20's-early 30's women who throw shit tests at you because of their age? Why immediately tell me they're old and DQ themselves rather than just let an attractive, confident guy approach and talk to them at all?

Reading what I've typed so far, I realize I should have said something along the lines of, "Oh, you're 30? I don't see any other guys talking to you, so I should have taken the hint" or some other kind of neg to shut the shit down. They were actually pretty rude and bitchy, come to think of it. But I'm still curious as to why these women would let the bitterness of their age show when they could have totally dodged it and possibly had a good time meeting someone new?
