Today my wife called me 3 times out of nowhere. Apparently she got into a huge, huge, huge, fight with someone at her job, which she is trying to leave anyway. She kept asking me If she should just walk out and quit. She wanted me to make that decision for her, while She was in tears. I refused. I said sit down, relax, breathe, take 10 minutes, then figure out if it's worth leaving. This didn't sit well with her. She said I'm only saying that so she can't blame me if it doesn't work out. Then said I'm using some psychology BS on me.
She then called 10 min later and said she's glad she didn't leave because they apologized, and the administrator told her she wouldn't have to work with that individual ever again.
Did I do the right thing? What do you do in those scenarios? Should I have made the decision for her? Keep in mind. I have no idea about the dynamic there or anything . I was afraid of telling her to leave, and then her blaming it on me later and saying she quit "because I told her to" and everything.
What is the right thing to do when stuff like this happens? I know if it involves you too, you make the decision, but what do you do if it's just her?
