I just discovered TRP two days ago, so I haven't got around to doing all the reading yet, but I would like some advise on a situation I'm currently in the middle of. I probably just need a hard slap of truth. I'll try to refrain from the life story, but give context.
I met a girl a last year at work, and she was throwing out lots of IOI at me, but she has a BF so beta me backed off. Queue talk of leaving her bf, I get her number, she leaves him we get to know each other as FWB (I knew she would be leaving to go back to school, so wasn't to worried about the 'workplace' thing). Find out 3 weeks in she's still been hanging out with the Ex on the side while seeing me, and slept with him once. Beta me gets jealous, starting to get oneitis since it's been a while since I was this close with someone. She promises me she's ending it and done with him, beta me believes her.
5 weeks later: I confront her about a discrepancy in her story about what she did the day before. She confesses she has been sleeping with Ex again, claims it's hard to get over someone she's relied on for the last 2 years, and that she still loves him. She says she's going back to him, and that we're done. I agree, but I want to stay friends. She agrees, on the condition of no more hookups. I apply what I know understand is Dread game (another girl and self-improvement to make her jealous). We hookup again 2 weeks later while BF is out of town. He is physically abusive (small amounts and very rarely, or it wouldn't stand), yet sounds like a huge beta. I have no regrets.
That brings us to yesterday. It's been 2 weeks since we hooked up and we still text semi-regularly (gag) even though she's back with her BF. Her college program is intense, and I know she doesn't have the mental strength to withstand stress. I did something similar 2 years back, and it was originally one of the reasons I wanted to stay friends - so I can help prevent her from relapsing to the depression she faced years ago (Well, I mostly miss banging her and having someone to confide in). Yesterday I text her for the first time in a few days to see how her exams went. She responds she doesn't want to talk about it and that she wants to be alone, and won't even see her BF. I tell her to come meet me in my area of town (20 min drive) and we'll drive somewhere and hang and that'll make her feel better (I push the "I'm always right" bit). She agrees, we hang and I give her some advice for overcoming her struggles at school. She asks me if she was DTF would I cheat on her BF, I say yes. She asks me if I would hypothetically date her. I say no. I allow her to see me texting one of my two new plates, and she gets upset that she isn't getting my full attention. We returned to my place and she leaves in her car to go see her BF (who hilariously lives 5 mins away from me). A few hours later we have this exchange:
Her: We are no longer friends. [BF] doesn't want it and I understand. I wouldn't want it either.
Me: K
Her: Not genuine friendship at this point. We can do better. I will delete your number and ask you do the same.
Me: Nah
Her: You leave me no choice but to block. I understand his logic it's not fair to me. He said we wouldn't be pals if we never hooked up
Me [I crack]: Funny how you come to that conclusion after I was able to convince you to come out of sulking and he wasn't. You're still into me. Your texting game is cowardly though, and I'm tired. Later.
I expected she had blocked me since her BF was clearly reading over her shoulder, but the next morning:
Her: You're the one into me. Wishful thinking on your part :P
Radio silence since then, with the exception of 1 snapchat.
After doing some reading on here, I know I failed plenty of shit-tests with her, but hey fuck me for thinking honesty was best policy. I wondering if it's possible to recover from beta status is a situation like this. I'm sure "Next her, and Alpha the fuck up" will be the general consensus, but I'd like to practice some dread tactics, and could use some advice on how to better handle these situations. Please advise.
