You should have went into the living room and gotten ready to go to the gym without her. When she comes out, "hey I have to go to to the gym, I'll drop you off". She then asks if this is because she didn't want to have sex. "Nope, I need to go to the gym" look at her like she's a weirdo for even suggesting such a proposterous notion

If she pushes it you can elaborate to the point, "i mean obviously I'd rather have sex but if we're not going to have sex then I want to go to the gym". She asks if you want to hang out with her."not really I want to go to the gym". If she continues to push, "yeahhhh, I just want to go to the gym" then silent treatment.

You need to make sure you deliver this as non butthurt as possible. It cannot seem like you are punishing her.

The message is not that she must have sex with you, the message is that if she's not having sex with you then you would rather be doing other things without her.

I would advise dropping this ultimatum you gave her and not mentioning it again.

After the gym, depending on how bad her infraction was, you can be like "hey just saw a new recipe I wanna make, you should come over tonight!". Pretending nothing happened. Best believe she will come over and be putting out. If she doesn't, you need to get a good night sleep because you have something important the next day and she needs to go home.

Continue this and she will soon learn sex = attention without you having to say it explicitly.

Seems a bit overboard and direct. The technique you're using should be reserved more for a potential dead bedroom situation where she's making frequent excuses. If she's been giving consistent sex and isn't "in the mood" this one time because you two had a fight, it's much different than, say, a chick turning off the faucet because she thinks she has you secured.
