It’s never fun to reject someone. The person who gets rejected WILL get upset, and that’s natural. However, what you will need to remember is 2 things:

If you aren’t into her then stringing it along is even worse than rejecting her/cutting it off. That will lead to even worse fireworks. Short term pain, long term gain.
You can feel good knowing you manned up and told the truth. Now you won’t have to worry about her anymore

It may suck right now, but know that what you did was the right thing.

People need rejection in order to build depth and maturity and character.

This is one of the reasons so many modern women are so juvenile and shallow and vapid. They're rarely told no or rejected.

You created a strong emotion and women enjoy strong enotions. It's a lot better than being bored.

It's not like she needed an excuse to pity herself before.
