She means you are spending an awful lot to time doing whatever it is you like doing. Nicotine of course is very addicting, as can be gambling and alcohol.

Nicotine and drinking involve substances that directly cause upsetting of mechanisms of dopamine regulation.

Video games, gambling, porn are activities causing short-term release of dopamine and thus also induce addiction.

Snowboarding, like working out, also causes dopamine releases, but it's a longer-term thing. Usually it's good, unless you abandon everything else to do snowboarding.

Working might be mistaken for being workaholic. Again, if you get pleasure from working towards your goals but maintain a balance with other parts of your life, it's ok.

The wording might be a bit strange, but if their accusations have basis (i.e. you really gamble, drink, smoke), then that's an addiction.

But for being addicted to work, that's her trying to stop you from reaching your goal.

They are jealous at the amount of time you spend doing what you enjoy and showing the passion and interest to those things. They want you to show the same to them. They want to be priority in your life and have all the attention remember only until they do and then go looking for the next new shiny thing. So disregard everything said to you and keep doing what you're doing.

At some point, when GF/LTR status, if you are spending your Time and/or Attention and/or Money on anything but her, she will complain/criticize/lament/judge. this means you haven't trained her well; or your past behaviors have given her reason to think this would work.

"spend more on me" is too clumsy for even the average female. "you're addicted to X" is masterful because:

it presents as a fact
it puts you in the defensive expected to 'prove' it's not true
addiction has the weight and charge of value judgement (ie: you're racist)

the answer is: treat as a shittest. assuming it's your money/time/resources, and you're a grown man. if you prefer to have a mommy-son relationship with your GF, don't do the following:

her: "you're addicted to snowboarding!" (actual issue: you spend money on gear and lift tickets, and go on trips with your bro's without me!)

A&A: you're right, snowboarding is lame- i should get back into arctic trekking, thanks for the reminder.
D&A: no, i'm addicted to snow... so i'll spread things out and get some ski's and a snow machine this winter.
