So let me lay this out there:

Cute, free-spirited cafe waitress with a lyft driver boyfriend. I frequent the cafe and have built a good rapport with her for fun. Over time I've grown attracted to her.

Another cafe frequenter and I chat, she comes and sits down next to me. He orders a long custom drink and lets me have a taste, and I ask the waitress what's in it:

Shit test 1: "Weren't you listening or are you in a dome of silence?"

My response: "Yea I heard, but I didn't connec....blahblah" - she stops paying attention to the response

She then gets off shift and has something to eat between us, chatting up the old, 50 year old frequenter and I. She mentions she loves art, I happen to be reading about art techniques on my iPad and I've been taking classes and show her and she's like oh cool and shows her recent art. It is pretty shit, but I say oh that looks cool.

Shit test 2: "Yea I don't want to take a boring art class, I'll figure it out as I go."

My response: crickets

Anyways, this was such a clear break from the good rapport building conversations we've had and it's even been flirty. Tonight I actually felt some attraction toward her and I feel I might have broken my frame. Is there anything I could do better in this situation?
