If save up at least 6 months of tent, then get a smaller place. Find a studio or one bedroom. Saving is so of shit happens, you can still pay your bills. If you get s smaller place it's 1) less space to furnish 2) less to clean since you're in school and working.

You shouldn't be basing major life decisions on pussy. I was like you when I was 20. All I wanted was a bachelor pad to throw parties and fuck chicks. Instead I decided to live with my parents and went to school for a lucrative major. It was one of the best decisions I've made.

Discuss with your parents about bringing people home. It's important to have dialogue. Work and school are important, girls will destroy your improvement if you're not ready, and not even done with a B.S. at least! Best to shoot for a M.S. if you really want a high paying job, and not chump change. I've seen a lot of dudes throw their life away over chance of getting more girls, and showing off their money when they work dead end service jobs.

Dont get a two bedroom for yourself unless you're going to be splitting the cost with a roommate. You're going to be spending over half your take home pay on the cost of this place. Does that include utilities? What about internet? Phone bill? Cost of food?

Whats your parents place like? Enough land for a treehouse? Im not even fucking joking. My dad and I built a sick treehouse when I was younger. Its got electricity, a bed. Pretty well everything but indoor plumbing. Girls love that thing and ive been too much of a bitch most my life to capitalize on it. Theres like 8 signatures from different girls on the wall up there and I havent fucked a single one of them. Sad.

1500-1600 for an apartment seems high for your current salary especially if you will have additional costs (internet, phone, cable, electricity, water, insurance, food and furnishings).

As a rule of thumb, you should never spend more than half of your monthly income on rent. So yes, you can afford it because you would also have to factor in every other facet of living including car insurance, food, gas, etc.

I'll also tell you this - you're 20 and have your whole fucking life ahead of you just like me (I just turned 25). A lot of my friends rented in the city right after they graduated college, but i sucked it up, stayed at home for 4 years and saved a shit ton of money. I was able to put a down payment on my own place and rather than lighting 1K on rent every month, I put it towards my mortgage (which my roommates also help me pay off). I don't live in my city, but i live in a much nicer area where I am 5 minutes away from the water and all of the bars. Yeah, it sucked having to save money living at home living by my parents rules. And the worst part was telling girls I met out that I live at home - I felt like a total loser. But now, I have my own house which none of my friends who rent can say. If I could do the same thing 100 times over I would never change a thing.

My advice to you is to suck it up and save money for your own place. It'll suck short-term, but when you're 24/25 years old, you will have life by the balls.

like /u/highdingo said, save up for at least 6 months. you’re going to want to build an emergency fund, allow yourself some wiggle room as you adjust to your new budget, and get all the basics that go into a new home that not everyone your age thinks about (furniture, appliances, kitchen items, pantry, etc)

and $1500 on a $3000 monthly wage is a little steep. i’m paying $825 for rent on a studio apartment on a $3000 monthly wage (after taxes) and it’s okay—could be better, but also living with my wife who is pitching in ~$500 for rent and bills per month

think about extra expenses you might have:

phone bill
water/trash bill
car insurance
cable bill
gas/electric bill
car payment
gas/car maintenance
groceries
hobbies

shit adds up fast, and if you’re not paying yourself 10% first (before everything else) for savings, you’re doing it wrong

Talk to OTHER PEOPLE in your area about expenses. Rent, food, bills, taxes, transport. There's extras everywhere.

I won't lie though, a big reason for me wanting to move out is to have better logistics when it comes to girls. The biggest hurdle I have with getting the lay is logistics and having just a car doesn't always cut it.

BULLSHIT your logistics are too shitty to pull. Straight up, it doesn't matter. Me and most of my friends still I've with our parents (all early 20's saving up money). We've all pulled consistently to our houses. Girls really just don't care. It's ALL IN YOUR HEAD. I've LITERALLY brought girls back to my place and just told them I have roommates. To have them wake up going to the bathroom running into my Mom or brothers. Or just leaving not knowing anyone else was home.

If your too far away distance wise? Fuck in your car. I'm seriou, you aren't setting it up properly enough. You have SOME kind of limiting belief about all this because your "logistical issue" is legitimately bullish. I've pulled girls to the beach, around buildings and into my car to fuck when I didn't want to bring them back. when you don't care and they're turned on, they don't care.

PLEASE depict your logistical issues and I will help you solve them. What, are you telling them you live with your parents when they ask where you live? hahaha Do you share a room with your brothers or something? WHY is your car not good enough. What happens when you try and go for it in your car? Are you escalating wrong? Do you not have enough space? Or do you just care too much.
