That no matter what we do we should not apologize

This is true to an extent. Never apologise for who you are, your opinions, the choices you make, actions you take based on what you thought was right, etc..

If you genuinely fuck up (e.g you break something), not apologising would make you look a bit stupid because you look like you aren't responsible.

Nuances are really important in this matters.
Ask yourself: have I done something wrong according to my own set of rules and values or someone is trying to shame me for being myself? For the former, apologize. For the latter... You know the answer.

Sure, apologise if you really fucked something up.

But did you really actually do something worth apologising for?

There's nothing wrong with apologizing if you've done something wrong.

But not for who and what you are. Nor for something you feel/think or something you didn't do wrong.

Apologize but don't grovel.
