I have recently begun this journey. I am married. HARD MODE.
Background
I've been hitting the gym and learning to deal with what I would consider as daily "hamstering" about any number of things from my wife.
I have started laughing a LOT of things off that I normally would have bent over backwards to solve or address. Every time I find myself taking some issue she has brought to my attention too seriously, I find I can also easily laugh it off. I have learned to decisively say no and not explain myself. All of these things that I had been afraid to do for fear of being too overbearing in the relationship have been the opposite of detrimental.
My marriage has more energy and zest than it has ever had. Our sex is WAY better, and improves in little ways every time. It is directly because I am taking a more active, even domineering role.
Question
I am struggling with one specific reaction that I would say my wife has harnessed to break my frame: "Why do you keep treating me like I am 6 years old?" For some reason I always fumble the ball a bit when this is thrown out there, because the real answer is that I have completely changed my life philosophy and values etc.
How should I address this, and as a whole, how should I address my wife noticing the changes in the way I am acting and treating her?
