I know it’s too late, but did you try calling as soon as it happened and let the job/interviewer know that you’re having car troubles and that you might be late? Or ask them to reschedule if possible? Like I said shit happens, so people can be very understanding as long as you learn to speak up and ask.

It's 2019 man. Why couldn't you call an uber or taxi. If this job was really that important to you, then you would have done that.

You should have made sure your car was working ahead of time. You also should regularly inspect your vehicle and do proper maintence on it.

Your situation sucks but this is what being a man and strength is all about.

If I was in your shoes I would have planned to be at the job interview 30minutes early. Then my belt would have broken and I would have asked family/friends for a ride. If that didn't work within 5 minutes I would have called a car or taken my bike, bus or even walked.

Your belt broke and your mom wouldn't take you and then you just gave up. Then came here to rant about it and fight with everyone in the comments section to distract you from how you are the cause of your own mistakes.

Learn from it. You sound young and this shit happens. Adapt and overcome and use it for the next time something happens. Go fix your car, apply for more jobs and work you way to getting out of your parents house
