I've been doing lots of day approaches over the past few months, had many successes, many more failures. I would like to think I'm pretty damn immune to rejections at this point.

But what happened yesterday bothered me for a bit and I haven't encountered it before.

Saw a girl, quite the stunner. Approached her confidently (held eye contact), she was very receptive, immediately offered good conversation. We had a back-and-forth for about 10 minutes. I make sure she knew I found her attractive - i did things like look her up and down to "guess" her job, then told her I was just checking her out. Stuff to make sure my intentions are obvious.

Towards the end, she asked me if I wanted to join her for lunch (she was waiting on her food which just came). I told her that no, i had to go, but that I'm down to continue our conversation over drinks sometime. She said Cool, we exchanged numbers, she texted me from her phone right there so I would have her number.

I left, thinking 'that was a pretty damn solid set, no way that's gonna be a flake as long as i strike while the iron is hot'.

A couple hours later, i texted her some call-back humor to our conversation. No response.

Later that night I texted her again saying let's get some drinks, I'm free Thursday are you free? No response.

Damn. I think back to the set and try to analyze it objectively, trying to think where I went wrong and what I could learn. I cannot think of any signs during the set that she wasn't interested. Quite the opposite. Like I said, she even invited me to join her for lunch. Then, ghost...

Frustrating to say the least. My question is: How common is this sort of thing?
