The best starting point is the FAQ of the stoicism subreddit, where you will find a list of recommended readings, classical texts and modern accounts. In general, one starts with the three classical books of the late Roman stoa: The "Enchiridion" by Epictetus, the "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius and "Letters from a Stoic" by Seneca.

Good overviews and modern interpretations are given by Massimo Pigliucci's "How to be a Stoic", Donald Robertson's "Stoicism and the Art of Happiness" and William B. Irvine's "A Guide to the Good Life"

Pierre Hadot gives the best explanations of Stoic themes that appear in the Meditations in his book "The Inner Citadel".

It's a collection of real life examples from famous people with stoic lessons built into it. It's probably gonna make a lot more sense to you than an ancient roman emperor's diary.

For instance he tells you about people like Edison who had his factory burn down but instead of being upset he told his son to grab his mother because she wouldn't ever see a fire like that again. The author explains how seeing the good in the bad is really a beneficial thing even if it's a terrible circumstance.

Son, you're plenty bright at age 14. One of the darker quotes is "Memento Mori". This simply means, "Remember that you will die". It is an exhortation to live well and to pack what you can into each day. Get done the things that can be done, don't leave things for tomorrow. Don't fear death, but use your natural end as motivation to live well. Marcus Aurelius also said, "Spend no more time discussing what a good man should be. Be one".
