There are plenty of Youtube. I've seen a couple and from what I understand is that one of the most important aspects is the position the story is told from.

To keep the listener excited it's important to know when you jump from one type of teller to another.

If you had a car crash and you want to tell someone about it, don't start like: "So last sunday I was driving down the road, then there was this other car totally over the speed limit. When I tried to cross the road it ignored a redlight and crashed into me"

It's better to tell as if you are just experiencing it:

"Imagine this: I am driving down the road when I notice this other car driving way too fast. I am trying to cross the road when I suddenly notice the other car ignoring the red light. Last thing I remember is it crashing into me!"

Those are very lackluster examples because they are pretty short, but I can not emphasise the importance of when to use the omnipresent storyteller and when to use the present storyteller.

One practical tip is to keep an audio diary. Whenever you have some free time, record yourself telling stories. Then you can listen back later and refine your skills.
