Met a girl at work (on set (I work in the film industry)). We had a few good interactions throughout the day, she approached me a few times, seemed interested.

It was a one-day job and I didn't see her before I left, otherwise I'd have asked her for her number. So, the next day I took her number off the call sheet (list of Cast & Crew sent out for reference before the production) and sent her a text to ask her out.

Tried to follow some texting rules, kept is simple and straight to the point. Included a callback to our conversation the previous day, etc etc

I've been reading TRP for quite a while now so I'm poised to chalk this up as a total loss because: she took almost 24 hours to reply, wants to hang but "isn't dating right now". The "gf" bit is a typo, obviously, and checks out. I heard her mentioning her ex to someone else. My instinct is to just not reply, hard next. 24 hours before replying is disrespectful.

Guess I'm here to see if my instincts are on point.

Thanks all.
