You can get as little or as much out of therapy as you choose. It's up to you. But it's not inherently a bad thing. Being RP means 1) that you see the nature of the sexual market, know the Game and all that stuff, but it also means 2) you have your own shit together in your own head and can live the way you want to, not living by reacting to all sorts of toxic bullshit (resentment,triggers,anxiety,whatever) that's been planted in your head by society, parents, crazy ex'es, and so on. It can be very useful to have someone sitting there challenging the way you think, helping you to see the connections between seemingly unrelated things that live in your own mind and pointing out how some of them are getting in the way. In that sense, a decent therapist is inherently RP because he wants you to understand your own mind and become a solid dude, not to beat you into being some kind of pussy-assed submissive new age mangina. It's the women who go into therapy and spend years acting the helpless victim, yammering on and on about the nightmare the hamster just had, but then never actually reflect on themselves and fucking do something about it that give the whole process a bad name.

EDIT: and to mend things with the therapist, just go back and tell him you thought about it a little more and you want to give it another go. They're pretty good at not taking things personally.

If you NEED to go to the therapist, go, and be you. Be completely open with the therapist. I don't believe therapists help anyone but idiots, but if I was ordered to go to one, I'd just go, and go through the process honestly. Fake it to make it isn't for situations where being you is for your own good. Half of TRP are still too BP, or Purple to even face themselves nevermind a therapist.

I had bad social anxiety and a bunch of issues and got a ton of progress seeing a therapist. He was a strong male objective guy who was really skilled at calling me on my bullshit and making me look at all my assumptions and motivations, which were really bad.

Dr Drew talks about this process a lot, about how a lot of damaged people can't relate to another person and how half of general therapy is just learning to sit there and connect with another person who you communicate with openly and honestly. Because of that, I'm super confused and curious how you could get all argumentative and antagonistic with your therapist. If he's joining in or if he's commanding you to do stuff, that likely isn't good therapy. Honestly, I spent a number of sessions basically going "This doesn't seem like we're doing anything, he just asks some questions and tells some stories and I talk a lot" but those times were building up the social skills I needed.

I also thought I was a bright guy and knew why I did things and that no one could help me figure out why I did stuff, but I was incredibly wrong. All this stuff was buried like three layers deep under my conscious mind, and uncovering it made it very easy to overwrite it and become more of a man.

Your therapist shouldn't have a bias, he shouldn't know or care, he's there to help and if you show up next session I'm sure it'll be really helpful for you both to just talk about what went on last session.

I don't understand how he's talking to your lawyer? There should be doctor/client privilege? Obviously we're not getting the whole story and maybe he has to for court-ordered stuff or for that to included in evidence, but I can't imagine therapy works anywhere near as well when it's not in a safe/secure space and you think he's telling people. Otherwise, I tell people that they should be as open and honest as they can, so they learn to be open and honest with people they are in relationships with.

After giving it some thought... This therapist's specialty is tightly related to the charges I am facing. Reading through, I honestly don't feel I need this type of therapy. But then again, I'm certain I don't deserve the charges either.

I suppose the reason I've been recommended to him is because it will help my case tremendously. That is probably why the lawyer called a full hour meeting to review my treatment. Its very critical to the case without him actually saying so.

You know what results are desired from therapy. Make it happen. You can approach it legitimately or fake it. Your choice.
