Longtime lurker now beginning a LTR with a previous plate. We hooked up for months before jobs forced us to separate. Since that separation, I found you guys. It's been well over a year and I have improved myself drastically. I would like to thank this community for giving me the tools to take command of my life.

Some background: So far, she has been exactly what I've been looking for in a mate. We connect much deeper than a sexual level, although I still constantly remind myself she isn't a unicorn. AWALT. I am stoic and the leader, she knows exactly who is in charge. She is moving halfway across the country just so she can be closer to me.

Anyways, she is still on the east coast so I was talking to her and she mentioned that she was planning on going to see her friend's band play. The gig is in another town quite a bit of a drive away. When she told me, I played it cool and kept amused mastery. I have not ever had to need to mate guard as my confidence has been so high. I've never shown jealousy and I believe that she is deeply in love with me and that she wouldn't dare cheat.

We only briefly touched on this but my initial red flags were that she would be making a decently long drive pretty much to see this band. The town is cool too but the main reason is for the band. She also didn't mention going with any friends and I have never met the friend in the band. She mentioned the plan in passing so I will need to follow up with her to fill in these details.

My question to you is whether I should be setting boundaries here or to keep playing my confident role? My only worry of setting a boundary is if she might take it as weakness or that I've lost some of my confidence. Also, any suggestions on how I could set the boundary besides presenting it logically? Essentially, a way a woman would understand.

I am hammering into myself that AWALT and that being prepared to walk away is my single most powerful tool. I would like some feedback about what you might do in this situation.
