I was in an LTR for 7 years so when we broke up earlier this year this was my first foray into online dating apps, then covid hit. Covid put up a ton of obstacles but I still have had success f-closing off apps, but it's a numbers game for sure. 75% of the women on there are boring as fuck, if they're not matching my effort on conversation, I unmatch. Another 20% are good at conversation but are weird as fuck, you can tell something is wrong like they overtalk or they are just there for validation with no intention of ever meeting up. The remaining 5% can say something besides lol and give you stuff to work with to maintain a few messages before getting their number and setting up a date.

This is just my experiences, I'm an above average looking dude with a witty personality. I get maybe 10 matches a week, and my openers to them vary. Usually some light hearted observation about one of their pictures or their responses. Cheesy pickup lines might work on 19/20 year olds, but I steer clear because anything overtly sexual, or insanely stupid you run the risk of being put in the creep/comedian category.

I've come to the point where getting matches and numbers is not a problem, but them not flaking is a problem. I'm just so bored by acting interested in girls, always starting a conversation and putting in effort. It's so much effort just for some average pussy.

You need to build rapport, but I suck at it, I'm usually too bored by the girl. Now I've been trying out new stuff. I just text girls in between my call of duty games to talk a little bit and build rapport, it's pretty cringe but it works. Girls want to see you're a fun guy first.

I always was one of those guys who got the girls their number in 4 messages and invited her out straight away but it worked but not much. Now I build some rapport, talk more through text and it has improved my chances a lot.

I agree that you shouldn't become a text buddy, but with all this COVID shit, I have no other options and it's honestly going alright.

Assume all girls there are hoes. Just trade couple messages back and forth then propose meeting at her or your place for something. If they agree get number and there ask for address. Preferably book 2 girls for the same time in case of flaking. If you can't afford to book 2 girls at the same time work on your value more. That's all
