How do you deal with authority? Questioning it. I can get away with it at work because at an engineering firm, practicality generally takes precedence over pride. However that mentality flows over into my daily life, having worked both for and against me. Also, say someone demands respect when their position already warrants it. In my eyes, you've lost any respect you would've had.

I have my methods and I'm old enough to have vetted out my own sense of respect, but I'm looking for other opinions/stories/books/podcasts/vids that people have on the topic.

There was a thread on TRP somewhat recently that delved into this a little bit, but I didn't upvote it.

I didn't clarify this in my last question (mispoke authority as rebelliousness) so I'm posting this one.
