It means they believe in groupthink, and groupthink was developed solely to profit from.
So make money on people who use the word lookism, or ignore it otherwise.

Looks account for about 1 out of 10 SMV points for the average man and average woman. There are a lot of very attractive, very fit, very strong bodybuilder dudes with 6% body fat who can't get laid because their game sucks ass.
Lookism is a virus in TRP, it is part of the feminine imperative to fuck up TRP with female traits.
Women care about their looks. Men care about confidence and charisma.
If you are ugly, you can get laid more than your best looking friend if your game is strong and his isn't.

I like your explanation that women should care for their looks and men about their personality in general and all improvement should be done for himself and not for girls.
TRP seems to be split with this idea, but leans more towards lookism (kind of like incels,) so I don't know exactly what's true. Can't say from experience either.

TRP isn't split, it's full of incels who want to blame their looks on their lack of pussy.
The guys who shitpost on TRP about how looks matter are guys who I guarantee are posting daydreams and fantasy FRs. I've been in the TRP community for over 30 years and I've met a LOT of guys who have found success -- they're all ugly to average at best, but get tons of pussy.
But in 30+ years of being on TRP forums, never once in my life has a supposedly "hot successful" guy met up with me. That's because they're just omega incels who post fake FRs to fap to.
I'm an ugly guy but I post under my real name to let people vet me. I also have had some very public relationships with very pretty women and I know a lot of "hot" dudes who question why a gal would be with an ugly old guy like me -- it's because my Game is perfect. My social proof is crazy high.
3 out of 10 in looks, 10 out of 10 in game and social proof, you can day supermodels.

Looks doesnt come close to being as important as those two things. Men goes for looks, women goes for tingles, status and confidence. If you saw me smile, I'd be a 3/10 lol. It does't bother me; the minute a hot gal is on my arm, I go up to 8.5/10 almost always.
My old Tinder profile tests proved that. Same with the old "hotornot" days -- I was 3/10 being myself, I was 8-9/10 when I had cute gals sitting on my lap and shit.

I think it's all preselection/social proof in my case. I've been sexually active for 31 years now, and I've been single for 8 hours at the longest. Even when I walked out on my (ex-) wife, I had 2 plates before night fell.
Because I tend to be pretty public with my dating/plating and not worried about what the fuck family, friends, clients or neighbors thing, it all works by itself. Some new gal I plate takes a selfie of us and posts it and tags me and all of a sudden 10 other women I know jump on it with "whoa, who is she???" and you know how it works.
I have never once chased tail. Skirts are not a goal. I can't remember if I ever didn't soft-next someone because it's not important to me. Women are a side effect to how much a man owns himself.
Even at age 15 I knew I owned myself, I was responsible for myself, and I didn't let others own me. This has a massive side effect at that age where you're the only guy in any entire school social circle that owns himself. Even the "hot" and "popular" jocks got dumped -- they didn't own themselves. Their parents and coaches owned them, it wasn't all that exciting for a gal even if she was with the homecoming king.
Own yourself, women will follow. Let others own you, women will bail.

I was 13 -- but I had my own business at that point, and I had some facial hair coming out so I had a lot of social proof. I was buying liquor for guys 6 years older than me because I could walk into 7-Eleven and they didn't care me. The gal was 19 but she thought I was in college, lolololol.

Many here will suggest that looks are only a tiny fraction of ones overall SMV (e.g. 10%). Personally, I believe this is bullshit. I’m far more inclined to agree with Rollo Tomassi in that looks are significantly more important than many state. If you don’t have looks, then you absolutely need to be strong in social proof/status and game.
PUAs have tried to claim that looks don’t matter so that they can sell you on their shitty products.

TRP is split thanks to PUAs.
Looks matter, they're like the keys to an ignition. You can know how to a car functions, understand how to drive it perfectly, and know the ins and outs of it like the back of your hand, but if you lack the key (looks), you'll never start the car. PUAs have convinced masses of men that the key isn't required, and that if you don't have it, you could just hotwire the car.
Ask anyone before the "Looks don't matter" 2000s-era bs and they'll tell you that you need to dress nice, have a fashionable haircut, etc., THEN you can run game.
Put a 8/10 male and a 3/10 male, who has PERFECT game, in a situation where there are plenty of women, and see who comes out with on top. And before you answer that, remove any Just-World fallacy concepts you have stored inside your head. "Well that guy worked hard on his game so he should reap benefits and rewards for his hard work!" Nah buddy, karma isn't real. AT BEST, the 3/10 would get used to GET TO the 8/10. The majority of trp's now believe that understanding this is being incel or concern trolling, or whatever they call it lol

Anyways, if we are talking about how looks affect ones interactions with woman then I'll say that looks do matter but not as much to women as they do to men. For woman you just need to meet her minimum requirement from then on words and actions build and maintains attraction.
I know some good looking guys who yes can get girls easily (5-8) but can't get the girls that they want (8-10). Why? because when they are really attracted to someone they don't know what to say and do, because they've never had to do much before. A more attractive women will generally give you a harder time when you are to fuck her regardless of how you look you have to be able to deal with this through actions and words.

It depends on the stage of game.
Early stage, such as the initial approach. Looks are 100% of your SMV until you open your mouth.
Your facial and body structure, fitness, swagger, nonverbal communication all fall into looks and are the first thing she sees about you.
As you you progress through the stages of game, looks become less and less important, until they settle, just this side of meaningless.
Looks are the bait that gets you in the door, everything else is what keeps you there.

Looks play a big role in attractiveness. But those lookism sites think that unless you are a supermodel, women will resent you. Either you are ugly and unwanted, or super hot. While they have their point, they obsess a lot.
