Personally, I recommend just plowing through the meeting in a stoic fashion-- getting it over with quickly, and getting back to work making money.

So long as you're a good earner, the brass will mostly not give a shit about this situation. If your earnings fall off, and they decide, 'Eh, we don't like this fucking guy any more,' they will use it as an excuse to get rid of you.

Which is pretty much standard these days. All kinds of petty rules don't really apply to people who bring in the money, or are otherwise liked around the office.

It's when that all changes that they start going through the fine print and trying to shit on you.
