I know I'm not. I'm not there for anyone's entertainment other than my own. By doing card tricks, cool - you've got their attention for a minute, but in my eyes you're literally a monkey juggling balls in order to keep them hooked. Besides, then you're going to be known as the 'guy who did magic' to them.
Who besides Criss Angel and David Blaine is known for getting laid for illusions?
Stick to normal approaches, or raise your SMV and take all the pressure off as girls become more receptive you your presence, period.

The quoted part just means be an interesting person, not some monkey that dances for them. This can be anything from cooking dinner, knowing bus routes in your city to interesting places, or just making her try a new shot.
I mean if you want to be cliche and impress then obviously you should learn how to play wonder wall on a guitar while tying a cherry stem with your mouth and be able to gossip about the kardashians

Card magic always seemed too 'prepared' for pickup purposes.
Check out Scam School on youtube. Great bar-focused magic/scams/tricks that can be naturally incorporated into an interaction.
eg.
You buy 2 shots, I'll buy two beers.
First person to finish both of their drinks wins.
I'll need a head start, you can't touch your shot glasses until I put my first beer down.
Oh, and in the spirit of fairness, neither of us is allowed to touch the other person or their glasses until the race ends.
Proceed to drink first beer, not too slow, not too fast.
Turn beer glass upside down, place over top of her first shot.
Pick up second beer and watch as she tries to figure out how to move your glass without touching it.
Winner buys the round, or the next round, whatever you want.
