Girl I’ve been working with (retail job, not career, have hooked up with girls here before with no problem) is pretty cool to be around, has been platonic. Very touchy on her end. Definitely some attraction from her. However, she’s SUPER religious, been in the same church all her life, never has been in a relationship, 99% sure virgin. (Early 20s), my SMV is higher than hers, no doubt.

I never talk to her outside of work, never text her, never buy her anything, never go out of my way for her. She gives me rides when I need them, buys me gifts, makes me food, etc

We were joking around one day and she mentioned I should see this religious movie with her. She knows I’m an atheist, I just mentioned “we should just do something that doesn’t involve religion”

She said she just doesn’t do this with guys. She was very forward and said she wouldn’t want to waste my time, lead me on, going on and on about how she doesn’t want to date anyone right now and needs someone with potential in her future life (which I never even said the word date, I just mentioned an activity we should do together, but whatever) I told her straight up, that when I’m somewhat attracted to a girl, I’d like something that is at least somewhat romantic. I took this as, she is probably just looking for a husband.

I just played it cool after that. Not the end of the world. I thought since she doesn’t have a high N count, why not. Trying to get out of my comfort zone a little bit, I never really am forward like this. Maybe I dodged a bullet here anyway, she would most likely would get super attached.

Was I wrong to be like this?

How should I proceed with interactions with her in the future?
