Long story short, i'm 24 and have an apartment. I have been throwing weekly poker games at my apartment for a couple months now, for the chance to win some good money (20 dollar buy in), the chance to hang out and bullshit with other guys, and the chance to host something (for social proof). The first month, I had no problem getting between 8-10 people to come to every game.

I would let people buy back in until a certain time, so the pot often was around 3-400 dollars. Everyone joked around, talked about girls, made fun of each other etc, it was great. Recently though, the games have been between 4-6 people, and it seems like the quality of the guys coming has started to deteriorate. One other quick note, I would have beer, soft drinks, and snack food like chips to keep everyone happy as the games last 4-5 hours.

I guess my question is - what can I do to spice things up, and attract more high quality people?
