Harvey Weinstein also used his power over these women as leverage to get them to do sexual things with him. He was also creepy and begged for it. Just listen to the leaked NYPD audio. as far as I know, there's no hard evidence out that he raped anyone, but what he did was at the least unethical professionally, and pretty disgusting. Maybe if he didn't say please over and over, got himself in shape, and used his power as a means of attraction, not as leverage, he wouldn't be having these issues.

Things like this happened (DSK for example) and it will always boil down to the same thing. There are women out there who make up accusations about men and while I'm ready to believe that the dude is a fucking creep, I'm not ready to swallow just about anything about how his behaviour says anything about my behaviour by virtue of having a dick too. Life is not fair, and learning to brush off accusations is part of the game. You can't let people define anything for you, not your beliefs, not your convictions, and especially not your own conscience.

So, yeah, the dude did creepy things and may or may not have assaulted girls and very likely used his power to leverage sex and among the testimonies, there is probably a lot of invention going on. I don't care for anything more. No matter how much The Red Pill makes sense for me, I'm not him, and that's the bottom line. That is what you should be saying to yourself.

If anything, use his fall as a lesson. Men of power get very vulnerable. Be careful in how you use it, don't let your dick rule your brain and respect simple common sense.

This Harvey was a failure of a man. Sure, we could judge a man by the success of his business, but as someone in business, it's a poor metric of anyone. He has a nasty history of doing stupid and questionable shit, I can't say I'm surprised.

He is not a role model (male role models are not very common. I can think of one to stay in the film industry : Ryan Reynolds and the way he portrays masculinity in his life and in Deadpool). You mentioned "positive masculinity". This guy was "negative masculinity", which is still preferable to "no masculinity"! So don't fret too much about it and keep your resolve. If someone mentions it, agree with them whatever they say until they drop it. You are not obligated to form any sort of opinion.

it's just "the thing" going on now. every woman is sharing some story about this is such an important issue and this needs to be the start of a serious discussion and how she too has been harassed by a man.

women have an instinctive drive to build closer connections with others in their social groups and reinforce group consensus as a way to survive in a harsh world. in 2017, mass media, social media, and pop culture all are part of every woman's social group. that's the root of this kind of thing.

in a week it will be some other issue at the front of everyone's mind.

The funniest takeaway for me was how society treated Corey Feldman, compared to how society is treating all these actresses, when he tried to come out on The View and out Hollywood as a city of perverts. It's like they scoffed at him and told him to man up. They subtly implied he was making it all up for publicity.

Now, all these women are coming out and society is waiting hand and foot on them. Any allegation is taken super seriously and there is no questioning the accusations and that the women were treated horrendously. To even "suggest" otherwise is inherently "sexist."

Just another example of how there are two sets of rules to the game. If your a man and you claim to be sexually assaulted, there will be dumb twats who think you're weak for it. Conversely, if your a woman, every consideration is given. For the record, I've got nothing wrong with there second part. It's the first part that aggravates me.
