Since May of last year, I had a beautiful girlfriend. We liked each other so much and I practically loved her and she loved me back (or so it seemed). We held hands in public, the sex was great, we talked every night, and it was just a great long term relationship, there were no issues practically.
I went on a two week trip to visit my mother, my sister, and brother-in-law in December for Christmas and New Years. My immediate family is spread out all over the US and I see them once every 2 years or so. When I came back, we were planning on going to dinner and hang out afterwards. I had Christmas presents for her and before I went on my trip, we agreed to have our own Christmas when I came back.
When I came back and asked her when is a good day to see each other, she kept on making excuses like "sorry babe, my parents won't let me, I am grounded." (she is an Asian girl in her early 20's with overprotective parents, but I have met her parents many times and they actually liked me). When I would ask her if ____ day is good, she would reply with: "sorry honey, I have work that day" and when I asked what her work schedule was so we could work it out, she wouldn't even tell me her work schedule. It was really suspicious. When I would text or message her, she would have these one word responses which made it very obvious to me that she stopped loving me.
Last week I tried messaging her through Facebook and phone, but she stopped responding to my messages. We are still Facebook friends and I even still see her active on Facebook, but no sign of another guy so far. I think she didn't have the courage to break up with me and that is why she just stopped talking with me so I would get the hint. It is not a full-on "ghosting" because we are still Facebook friends. After a couple days of her not responding to my messages (when it clearly shows her being online), it is pretty obvious that she got bored with me, fell out of love, or found another guy.
Something like this is the second time this has happened to me. My ex girlfriend before the girl I was talking about in this post went to full on ghosting me and blocked me on Facebook, did not respond to my emails, texts, messages, and so forth. I asked one of her friends to see if she was ok and alive at least, and her friend said yes and that she has found another guy unfortunately.
So I am making this post because I don't know if I am the problem, if women are naturally like this, or if maybe I have really shitty luck. I am considered a pretty good looking guy (not perfect of course), I pay for everything (dinner, movies, groceries, ect.), I act like a gentleman (opening/closing doors, that sort of thing), would never dare to physically or verbally abuse any women, and never cheated on or flirt with other girls. Unfortunately, I am a student that is almost done with university, so I don't really have a whole ton of money. I am an engineering student and I am almost done with my degree and would most likely land a well paying job when I graduate. I am trying everything I can to make myself more valuable to women I meet in the future. At this point, I am thinking that if I had a lot of money, my chances of being ghosted will decrease in the future. My future wife/girlfriend would live too much of a comfortable life to drop me. Of course not all women are like this, but it is very discouraging and depressing when you get ghosted with no explanation. You had to have experienced this to understand.
I just wish she could tell me why she broke up with me. I am thinking that if she answers this question, then I would become more depressed about the situation. I am also wondering if "ghosting" is an acceptable break-up method with the majority of women, because I certainly think it is utterly shameful, cowardly, and not fair unless the woman is trying to get out of an abusive or really bad relationship where her safety or well being is threatened. Does "AWALT" apply here?
I would love to hear input, experiences, suggestions, and opinions from this sub. I have been pretty depressed about it recently, but I know time moves on and I will have to just move on with my life. Am I doing something wrong that makes women want to ghost me? Some of you reading this might get the impression I am a beta (or blue piller), I assure you that I am not and I have been using this subreddit for awhile now. I have a shit ton of testosterone and can act like a Chad from time to time. However, now that I am 26, I would just like a long term relationship with a girl I love and be happy at this point. Fuck my life :(
TL;DR - My girlfriend "ghosted" me recently and left me without any explanation. This is the second time this has happened to me in my life. Am I doing something wrong to deserve this? Do a majority of women accept "ghosting" as a justified way to break up with someone? Opinions and input are appreciated on this post. Thank You.
