Honestly. It doesn't mean anything. There are very few girls who are on hormonal birth control and not in a relationship. If you hear about a girl using it to control her pain from having the cycle, you can cringe or do her a favor by telling her it has long term negative effects like loss of sense of smell (ability to smell pheromones, too)

Disclosure: I don't talk to a ton of girls let alone investigate their birth control or libido.
