Ok gents, I need your help. So for the past 6 months I lived in Australia. Before that I was dating a girl back home. We seemed to kick it off quiet nicely so she didn't take it very well when I told her 2 weeks beforehand that I would be gone for half a year. So fast forward to now, I'm back at home and naturally I asked her out on a date. That's when she dropped the bomb on me that she apparently had a boyfriend for the past 5 months and they just happened to break up they day before yesterday and she would be glad to go on a date with me. Here is the weird thing. I was stalking her social media for the time I spent in Australia and there was no sign at all from a boyfriend. No uploaded pictures of them, no "I love you" status, not anything at all that would indicate a relationship. There are 2 options:

Either she really did have a boyfriend in which case I should overthink taking her out on a date since I don't want to be a replacement for him. Hoping for advice here.

Or this whole thing is a lie which would be an enourmous shittest (she asked me if I'm mad at her for having a boyfriend) and to be quiet honest a giant red flag. I kind of don't want this to be true because I really like the girl but a red flag like that should never be ignored.

Hope you guys have some advice for me, I am honestly lost.
