So I met this girl online a few months. She's from another country, so our interactions were mostly limited to texts. We chatted, had conversations about common interests and learnt a lot about each other in the process. Cut to yesterday. She was angry at her friends for a really silly thing and I just said it wasn't something to be outraged about. She said she didn't need my opinion. Now I thought I might diffuse the situation by some good old humor. I said "So patient no. 501 suffering from anger, when did you first observe the symptoms?" Now I guess she wasn't very humored by the comment and told me to shut up. I didn't realise what was wrong with it and replied "I guess we'll have to move to the ER. The patient's condition is deteriorating"
Now what I was expecting - A cheerful response.
What I got :A long rant about how anger is necessary for peace of body and mind how she knew a lot more about anger management than me (she's studying neurology)
And then proceeded to block me.
What went wrong here?
For better context, this is why she was angry- She had posted an online form a day before and asked people to fill it. She got around 100 responses but she was pissed that around 250 people had seen her status and didn't respond. Next day she posted another status mentioning how uncooperative people were and she wouldn't forget those who just saw the post and didn't respond. That's when I said it wasn't something to be so angry about!
