So earlier I posted about how I had done pretty well at talking with this girl (whom I will continue to refer to as Sarah). She was giving some strong IOI's and everything went pretty well, except I didn't isolate/close.

Today the same group went rock climbing. As I was getting my gear on Sarah came up to me and we ended up belaying each other. She stood close, I initiated kino when I felt like it, and I even caught her from falling over a few times. I continued to be cocky/funny as I was last night, and she responded well. I also took a few opportunities to talk to the other members of the group, a few of which were fairly good looking girls.

We get finished rock climbing and decide to head to a local beer garden. When the group gets there we all park in a lot a little ways from the place. We tell Sarah that her car is parked in a tow away space and I, not wanting to pass up a chance to isolate, walk with her to show her where she should park.

When we get to her car she invites me into the passenger seat, clears it off for me and I sit. I think that this is a good signal and when we get to the new parking space I decide I want to kiss her.

So I press on her arm with the back of my left hand and lean in. She smiles puts a hand on the top of my head and says,"Whaat? nooo." It was playful but still, I got shut down. I played it off as nothing got out of the car and began to walk back. She said

"I'm getting out of a messy relationship with my ex-boyfriend. Otherwise I'd jump all over that."

Took me a second because I expected boyfriend but not ex-boyfriend, so I replied,

"An ex eh? Then we should do something to make him jealous."

"Oh my god. See, guys know how to play that game too, but Rebound guys just never work out for long."

"I never said they had to."

"Maybe another time."

"Maybe I won't feel like it later."

"Then I guess the problem will resolve itself."

This whole interaction was done in a light tone. I spent the rest of the night talking to other people and ignoring her. It was a little awkward at first, but I settled back in within a few minutes.

Not sure where I went wrong here. It doesn't matter with this girl. As far as I'm concerned I am done with her, but I want to know for future reference.
