Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to bulking and body building and I am currently seeing pretty incredible results. I had never counted my calories (every day and hit the surplus every day) until about 2 months ago. I started at 6ft 140lbs and am currently up to 159lbs. I'm in this thing for the long haul and its really hard to be impatient/upset with what I've seen already.

That being said, I want to make the most of what I'm doing right now and be careful to keep progress going. When did you stop gaining 5lbs a month (I expect to slow down to this rate sometime soon, as it seems to be the standard for most folks)? Or when did your weight gain become so much more fat than muscle that you needed to stop bulking?

The way I understand weight gain is that as long as you're hitting a 500 cal surplus, you will continue to put on some percent of fat and muscle. Once that levels out, you simply add another 500 cal. But I've heard that eventually you start hitting diminishing returns. Any counsel?
