If it's a first date, do not do it. Let them come to your place.

If it's a second date, date at their place and cook something together or something, unless it is clear beyond doubt, that you will be fucking later, i.e. because you agreed that you'll be staying at their place, or you have been talking about it at least in a playful and/or teasing way.

In any other case, let her come. Don't show neediness by taking road trips.

It does not matter if it is easier for you to come or whatever excuses she has for not being able to make the way. You wants the prize? Then take the walk.

Yes, it’s ok not to have sex on the first date, especially if you consider her potential LTR material. And not all women will have sex on the first date, despite what some guys on here say. Do your homework online about her area and scout out some cool places that you might venue change to that will take you closer and closer to her place. When you are talking with her, be alert for things she says that provide you a good excuse to go to her place. She mentions she has an incredible CD collection or an awesome aquarium or her place has the greatest view or she has a nice bottle of wine she has been wanting to open, etc. Or it could be something more mundane. Your job creating feelings is the same; you just need to think thru the logistics.
