Why are groups like TRP mischaracterized / negatively generalized according to a minority of their most lunatic adherents?

For instance: people who subscribe to "Red Pill" views are branded as Misogynist, Alt-Right, etc. From what I've read / seen on the internet, while TRP / 'Manosphere' has its fair share of deranged jerks, it would be a stretch to say that this applies to anywhere near most of the people who subscribe to RP views. The observations that TRP makes about human nature and society / culture have a lot of truth and useful information. Why are so many in such a hurry to throw the baby out with the bathwater and view things like TRP in black-and-white terms (purely good or purely bad / no nuance whatsoever), as if every single person who writes or follows RP content is a crazy, sexist jerk....
