I don't bad mouth exes anymore (except the one psycho one, those are good stories). Its a low thing to do and reflects badly on you just like a girl who says all her exes were abusive. Just be honest... why ARE you single?

Honestly though if this is like, a random girl you don't know asking why you're single, she doesn't actually care why, she just wants to confirm that you are.

The best answer is something like “I’m content with my life as it is. I’m not against being in a relationship but if I’m happy with my life why look for one”

This shows you’re open for a relationship which will keep the girl drawn (even if it’s a lie).

Also saying you’re content with your life shows you’re a happy person. Probably do cool stuff. No needy. Neediness is the biggest turn off to women.
