She’s trying to gauge your interest level. Also, it’s better to compliment actions than looks. I’d rather compliment by telling her how she turns me on.

Only say it when you mean it or it becomes common and worth nothing.

No compliments tells a woman you have a lack of interest in her and she will reciprocate. The idea of not complimenting probably is for the guy who compliments too much which puts her on the pedestal.

This is a sign of you not giving enough attention and she's communicating it. If you DGAF then do nothing but if you're posting this you have some fucks to give so heed the warning. As for what to say the other users hit it out of the park. But keep in mind this is a fine balance
