The purpose of life, biologically, is to spread the genes.

For men, they do this by pursuing and having sex with as many partners as possible. Higher quality is better but sperm is cheap, easy to make, easy to ejaculate, AND here's the kicker there is NO investment needed by the male after he deposits sperm - he doesn't have to nurture the fetus, carry it in his body, or take care of it. So, he doesn't need to be super picky about sex. Of course he will give more attention to higher quality women but it's all so that he can have sex.

Relationships are a modern construct where a female & male make an unspoken exchange of guaranteed monogamous sex (which means paternity certainty) for resources and the man's commitment (which means the kid & mom get taken care of and protected by a male and therefore can survive).

Modern dating is the dance between offering sex & commitment at different stages all while trying to maximize your self-interest. It can change even if you've been with someone for months.

I.e. Males who want a lot of sex but not want to commit.
or Women who want a provider/relationship but don't like sex with that guy.

You may have found someone who you want sexually AND in a relationship with BUT He may only have found someone who he wants sexually but not in a relationship.

It's not personal. It's biological.
