Girls want a guy to commit to them to snuggle and keep them warm during the winter when its cold and they aren't going out as much. Once it gets warm and people start going out more, the cuffs come off and they dump him so they can slut around.

Basically engrained in our biology. During harsh winters our cave ancestor females needed a male to keep warm, provide and protect. Animals hibernated, food was harder to come by. Summer conditions are far less harsh, food far more abundant, female is far less dependent on a male.

In conjunction to this people go out far more in summer, there is an abundance of mates to choose from. In winter people go out far less, there are far less mates to choose from, female urge is to lock down male in the dwindling selection pool.

Girls don't want to be alone for the holiday season.

Also, spring break can be a trigger if a girl has planned a trip away with her friends and wants to be single for it.
