I'm been theorizing this was all a subconcious way to prevent me from maturing into the type of alpha that gets a girlfriend and leaves. Again, subconcious.

It's not all as subconscious as you think.

It's not directly to prevent you leaving..... it's to make ALL the males around her support her.

This is a weakness of mothers to male children: they beta them up in the same way they do their husbands, to the detriment of her offspring.

I have a friend who went from 350 lbs mostly fat mass, to very lean and well defined muscle mass. He doesn't have any visible signs of fat, his gut is gone and his legs are fucking chiseled.

His mom recently commented that she felt he lost too much weight. Maybe she really thinks he lost too much weight, or isn't accustomed to seeing him this way but I also wonder if there's something else at play here.
