Hey guys. Posting this here since I can't do it yet on the Fitness forums.

I've been a sports person since I was born but I was recently diagnosed with two problems (Hip impingement and Shoulder tear, post-luxation symptoms, etc) that affect my entire body. I'm slowly improving my rehabilitation with my hips and legs but my shoulder is still a damn coin toss, who knows if I'll ever be able to use it for strength again.

I've been ''useless'' for at least a year and have started to lose the muscle quality I once had. I never really followed a proper diet but since I never went overboard I was always pretty fit, aesthetically speaking. My sedentary job doesn't help much either ... I'm actually considering a quarter-life career change to something much more active that doesn't require me to sit the whole day.

Anyway, It's really frustrating as of late, I'm becoming smaller than before and my waist keeps growing. I haven't started eating properly yet but I'm also wondering if it'd make a difference in the end since I'm not doing any kind of physical activity aside from recovery drills. I'm a skinny fat dude now! Hahaha, oh life and its surprises :(

Will it let my body do a ''re-composition'' of sorts? Will I look better by maintaining my calorie intake but changing the food quality? Or is exercise a necessity after all for anything related to fat loss?

I'd like to hear your input on this.
