It was a bad reply. You changed the tone of the conversation into a serious one. To me that signals an overreaction, and therefore defensiveness. Never mind the fact that whatever authority you were trying to convey by ordering her was dispelled by you wanting her to 'teach you'. Overall a nonsensical statement, certainly not one I would expect from a naturalised English speaker. As a general rule, if this TRP crap forces you to a highly non-neurotypical style of talking, ditch it.
