Just for a bit of background, I am a 1st year student studying in a large city, I recently went through a breakup with my first serious girlfriend whom i loved a lot and dated for a year and a half. We broke up 3 and a half months right before we wennt away to university (we are studying around 4 hours away from each other so we would only be able to see each other once or twice a month). However the day before we left for university we told each other that we loved each other and vowed to try and date again in a couple of months. I found out a week later that on the 3rd day of univerisity she slept with someone and was dating the guy (this was about 3 weeks after our breakup). When i found out i felt completely broken inside and for weeks, all I could do was think about her all day with her new guy. Since then we talked a bit but got into a huge fight which ended up with me blocking her on all social media.

It took me a while but I am finally feeling better (thanks partially to a psychedelic trip that I had in which I realized a lot of things). The problem that I have now is that after after I can't seem to pick up any new women. Since the end of the realtionship I have started working out a lot (i'm a bit overwieght but currently trying to fix that), going on runs and trying to be healthier and focus on my studies. However whenever I go out i can't seem to attract anyone, I have also tried dating apps and have found very little success. I have this fear in my chest everytime that I approach a women because of the pain that I went from my ex and defineatly caused me to develop some self-esteem issues. I have read through Mark Manson's book "Models" and I have tried hard to apply all the advice that he has in my day to day life but still have found little to none success with girls. I am looking for any advice that anyone has to give me. I was also looking for a place to vent since all this shit has been pretty hard for me since I haven't hooked up with anyone since my ex while she was able to move on so quickly.

tl;dr: A young student who went through a recent breakup can't pick up any girls in a large city venting and looking for advice.
