I'm 21 y/o from Canada visiting South Korea for 4 months in the summer. First time living on my own too. I was just wondering if racism would be a factor...

In my experience with Japanese girls, racism is a factor, but about half the time it works in your favor, so it's not something to be worried about. You should try to go for the ones that are obviously into white guys, it will save you a lot of time.

I'm not sure what color your eyes/hair are, but if they're anything other than brown/black be sure to flaunt them openly. I get drunk girls that are practically hypnotized by my blue eyes and just tell me over and over how pretty they are.

Also, keep in mind that your competition is far less in Asia. Don't get me wrong, there are some seriously badass Asian guys, but their AFCs are probably shorter, scrawnier, and culturally conditioned to be more beta than you. Go in with the (admittedly slightly racist) attitude that you have a natural advantage and you'll be unstoppable.

Lastly, people will expect you to do strange things because you're a foreigner. This means you can throw out all the "rules" in your head. You don't even know what their social norms are, and anyway, they don't apply to you! As a side note, never be apologetic of not knowing Korean.
