This can be a great environment. It has built-in changes of scenery, plus an automatic in-group feel. There will (hopefully) be multiple groups of girls w/out guys. However, all the other single guys on the bus(es) will have the same advantages as you, so you need to move early, but at the same time, don't come across as thirsty. Another advantage to moving early is that at least some of the other guys will be building up their liquid courage before approaching.

You'll wanna open sets, as singles will feel extra intimidated by the crowd. Keep it light, funny, and just a bit flirtatious, rather than trying to be too directly sexual right up front. Most of these things have a meetup bar before the bus, so start there.

Open a set of girls, linger for 5 minutes or less, unless an HB latches to you immediately. Move on while you've got them laughing. Don't wait until conversation dries up. And move on to open a group of guys or back to your friends. You don't wanna show girls that you're just hitting on every girl there. Instead, aim to be life of the party with everyone, and just have fun with everybody.

Rotate through the various groups of people. As the night progresses, start to zero in on the girl(s) giving you the most positive feedback. Don't get handsy until a girl is really feeling it. The last thing you want is to go bar to bar with one or more girls seeing you as a creeper. Good luck, and have a blast!

That sounds like my nightmare. Not being around the chicks, but just the amount of people.
