Sup bros, Longtime lurker here. Because this is longer than a North Korean military parade and just as dry, I TL/DR’d each paragraph. I just want to point a few things I’ve noticed that have been brought up several times in the last few months in regards to the apparent “decline” of seddit. First off there has been a MASSIVE growth in the size of the community (like almost bacteria fast). We hit 100,000 subs January 5th and already 2 months later we are at 112,000. 12,000 people in 2 months is a huge addition, especially since I think it is a fair assumption that the vast majority of these are beginners. It also helps explain a lot of the bad advice and beginner questions that many seddit users are complaining about. Seddit is a community, and like any real community, massive growth will put a strain on the infrastructure and general state of the community. I think that this is something that is worth discussing. Here are a few of my ideas in regards to a few of the most commonly mentioned problems: TL/DR: Many of Seddit’s problems come from the rapid growth in subscribers
1) Dealing with beginner posts So I keep reading about how the same questions get brought up, (high five to the mods for the simple questions threads), and a big part of the solution people have come up with is “read the sidebar” response. I think this is a good idea BUT, the sidebar needs a complete re-work in terms of accessibility organization. First of all lets bump the NEW HERE and GUIDES up to the top for visibility (sorry tofutofu). Why should I read something titled “THIS” and “THIS” honestly, what is it and why should I click it? The FAQ needs updating. Plus people are often too lazy to read a whole FAQ, can we index it? I think clearly titled and linked beginner guides would be very helpful. Also if a beginner has never read anything about seduction, do you really think they know what a “shit test”, “lifehack” or “AA” is, or how these threads can help them? I think they will just post another “GUYS…HELP” thread. Beginner guides should avoid PUA jargon as much as possible in order for greater accessibility. I realize that making these changes is quite a bit of work, but it may be easier to do it right once, than answer the same questions over and over again. Also, the GUIDES SHOULD BE DYNAMIC the whole point of seddit is to talk to people, not read endless guides. Why don’t we cycle through guides on a regular basis(e.g. 1 guide every 2 weeks?) with a mod post (like simple questions) where beginners can ask questions on content or application, advanced users can contribute updates/reworking of the guide. TL/DR: Sidebar and Guides need reworking and should be actively discussed
2) The HB system There has been a lot of debate about the HB system. Personally, I think the problem with the HB system is that it provides mis-information. A lot of guys just say “I approached a HB8.” And that’s it. Seduction is dynamic, different girls respond to different approaches. A HB8 all dressed up in a club, a shy HB8 reading in a coffee shop in sweats, a HB8 relaxing in a bar after a day of skiing will probably require different styles of approaching. Context is critical to evaluating how successful/applicable an approach/technique is and more often than not posters seem to think HB8 explains everything, when in reality it explains nothing. Giving context will help beginners, and hell, giving a better description of her might just make people realize it’s not just objectification that happens here. TL/DR: Using HB# isn’t descriptive enough… give more context guys!
3) Bad-advice, Disrespect, and being a true alpha There has been a lot of talk about bad advice being given. I think that this is a large part due to the amount of new posters, and to be fair seddit is an open forum, and there are always people who litter in public spaces. However, there is one trend that seems to be fairly consistent. I call it the “one size fits all” or “quick fix” approach to seduction. Posters constantly give advice as if seduction is static. If you do A, you will get B. It completely ignores the context. WHERE ARE THE QUESTIONS like “what are you looking for? A hookup? A relationship? Friends?” How can someone honestly give advice about a situation that they don’t care to understand? In the past few months I have personally noticed(maybe I have not been paying attention) a fairly sharp decline in and increasingly hostile response to posts about people looking for relationships, gaming their girlfriends, trying to make friends etc. Seddit shouldn’t just be a circle jerk of who can bang the most bitches with the worst pickup lines. If that makes you happy, good for you, really, I mean it. But I feel like a lot of the discussion on this sub have turned into banging bitches because you think it will make you cool (alpha) or solve your problems. This is as BETA AS IT GETS. Lets make sure this sub doesn’t turn into that circle jerk and make sure people know SEDUCTION COMES FROM SELF-IMPROVEMENT NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. New sedditors must realize that it’s about THEM, and not the technique. What works for one sedditor often won’t work for another. What works on one girl won’t work for another. What works for a one-night-stand probably won’t work for a relationship. Personally, for me the largest improvement in my “game” came from a period where I didn’t do ANY “real” approaches (I needed to get my shit together, if there is any interest I can post about this). Asking questions of posters will place more emphasis on THEM over the technique and hopefully give more diversity in posts. I think the most appropriate answer to many of the questions on this forum should start with “it depends”, and yet those words are rare to hear from anyone other than a few veterans. At this point I am preaching to the choir to many of you so I will stop. TL/DR: More questions to better establish context/desires and a greater variety of posts based on different goals (not just hookups).
Lastly I would just like to thank the mods, for all the work they do. And for all of you who have taken the time to help give me the tools I needed to turn my life into something that I am amazed by every day. Which to me, is the definition of alpha. THANK YOU
Unlike North Korea, I hope this inspires some discussion.
