I'm understand it sucks ass, there is no quick switch. I had really bad social anxiety, even tho I'm fairly extroverted, through HS(could socialize if I got comfortable with people tho) and starting about a year ago I started practicing pickup to gain confidence.
Over the course of the past year, although I'm still shit at pickup(honestly believe it's due to me being out of shape, I have a good face but a decent gut) I can go up to anyone and converse with them. A year ago I was too fucking shy to go talk to the guys playing MtG on campus without a friend introducing me.
Just keep asking girls out, don't count on them to he interested in you, do it to improve yourself. It DESTROYS social anxiety. Seriously dude, don't do it for the chicks, do it to better yourself.

Don't think I'm in a good position to be asking out women right now.
Still have some work to do on myself to kinda compete with the other guys my age out there.
Hopefully soon though, in the meantime I'm preparing as much as I can.
