Read your first sentence again. The quicker you approach, the less time your mind and body has to react to the nerves. You've got about 3 seconds before it really sets in and you can feel it in the legs, so go over and approach asap. The nerves will kick in, but by the time they do the hardest part is already over. Don't think about approaching just react on that knee jerk, regardless of the risk.

Also don't judge the feeling as fear or anxiety, look at it as excitement. You know when you are just about to go down a dip on a roller coaster? It's that same feeling, yeah there is a bit of fear but its all in good fun. Don't say "I'm about to approach that beautiful girl, I'm fucking nervous. Instead say "I'm about to approach that beautiful girl, I'm fucking excited".
