A college environment is excellent because it is so easy to open girls. But remember girls talk. So being very direct can get you a reputation very quickly So the best way to go about it is to do more social circle game.

One example that happened to me was I was sitting beside this blonde in a coffee shop on campus. She was playing with her phone only, not looking around, etc. and I was sitting beside her. I said to her you look really serious playing that game... She was like yeah! I was like what game is that? She was like it is a Swedish game... I then said oh! You are Swedish! (Saying hello... How are you? In Swedish) which made her laugh. And then we were off talking for like half an hour. 10 minutes into the conversation I was accusing her of flirting with me and that she should take me out to blah blah restaurant first... (To make my intentions clear!)... Most of our conversation was normal things about the school, college bars, party environment, things to do for fun, etc. with a flirtatious subtext.

Worst case is you come off as a fun flirty guy which is a lot better stigma to have then guy just hitting on every girl in class

Hey Seddit, I'd like some advice on asking that girl out in your class. Specifically one that sits next to you.

There's nothing different about a girl that sits next to you. Not really. You're just making it different. Girls are girls. Some of them will go for you, some won't. You find out by putting yourself out there. Simple. Straight-forward.

I go to a small school with extremely small classes (<30 people), and I always try to sit next to the hottest girl in the class.

Okay. And do you always try to talk with such girls? There's nothing wrong with positioning yourself well but it's all for nothing and possibly creepy if you don't act.

Now should I be extremely direct with my intentions, or be a little more ambiguous since I'm more or less stuck with her for the rest of the semester?

If you ever want a shot, you HAVE to be direct. None of this coming at her side-ways crap. So she doesn't like you? So what. Simply finding out if she'll hang out and further investigating if she'd be DTF or whatever you are interested in, isn't uncomfortable unless you fail to take no for an answer. Being direct isn't ever bad. People confuse being "direct" with douche bags who aren't in tune with the fact that a girl isn't interested. What you do is ask to hang out and try to escalate while hanging with her (preferably one on one) and if she isn't down, cool. You back off and find someone else who is.

Ambiguousness? NO. Best case is that you are weak sauce if you go this way. Worst case is you come off creepy because your intention will likely come off clearly but so will the discomfort and awkwardness that keeps you from acting. Which will make her feel awkward and uncomfortable with you.

Here's a simple yet effective rule to follow any time you are trying to seduce a girl and can also get you out of the friendzone: Present a relationship as the only option. Here's what I mean, do not present yourself as a friend or simply a classmate as this will leave the option of friendship on the table. Understand that an interaction with a woman is essentially a barter, your services for her goods. People are selfish beings you want something and she wants something. If you present friendship as an option you're effectively losing all your power on the playing field. Why? Because you are offering your services for no compensation at all. You are a man and your time is valuable and it will not be wasted on simple hugs and "awws." If she does not want a relationship then she better be able to accept it all or nothing. This is exactly how the friendzone works as well, follow the same guideline. Understand, however, that in order to get out of such zone it implies losing all friendship COMPLETELY.

Just something I've realised, flirting with an attractive girl and it not going anywhere isn't a bad thing. If you end up friends with her she may introduce you to her friends who are probably attractive as well...see where I'm going?

I would just flirt and make a friend. And when the time comes to actually hangout you will know. If you act to soon in this case, it could be a loooooonnnngggg semester.

For God's sake plan something together. In pure tactical/scientific language, you need to attract her and suggest an activity outside your school. There are a billion ways to do that. Here is a lame one "I need to buy new shirts and i am not that good with fashion (showed an insecurity). If you could me, that'd be great (offering her a chance to show that she is attracted to you). I said it is a lame one. The truth is this that if she is attracted, even the dumb things would work like a charm.
