Awkward Wing

I have multiple friends who are almost hopelessly awkward, but I go out with them because I value their friendship more than any sabotage they may bring upon my game. One of my good friends (who's temporarily excommunicated me because he's jealous of my sex life) was the textbook definition of a dude you needed to babysit--or rather, he was like a lost puppy following me around.

This use to annoy the hell out of me until I realized that a girl who is completely entranced with you will usually have little concern about the guy you came with. Now obviously a guy who has no sexual awareness is not going to make a decent wingman, but this will only challenge you to take matters into your own hands, which is an important skill to learn. Though I cannot think of many who teach this, I would argue that "independent game", or the ability to lone-wolf it to any bar, club or party is one of the greatest unexpected skills that pick-up has taught me, and it has helped me endlessly in other areas of my life. Basically, my point is that if you can imagine yourself picking up girls without an awkward wing, then you should have no problems with him there.

Practice. Go out to bars, shopping malls, grocery stores, etc. and get some practice. Since you're preparing for Mexico there should be no fear of rejection since you're only doing it for practice anyway.

Umm I can't think of anything other than don't let him slow you down. Maybe approach less intimidating girls first and let him warm up and get comfortable? Also, see how alcohol affects his game, and don't be afraid to throw him pointers.

I've had wings like this. My recommendation:

Roll with him to bars, but run game and open sets primarily alone.
"Hey man, I'm stoked we're hanging out! One thing I'm working on is chasing skirt, so I'm going to be chasing the girls tonight. I'd love for you to get in on the action too if you're down. I just don't want you to feel like I'm ditching you. If you want to wing me, I'd be stoked to have you on board."

If you feel like you wouldn't be patronizing him, you might offer to give him some tips as well, if you think he'd be open to them.

Why Mexico? Isn't it dangerous there these days?
